The Five Keys To Successful Negotiation
According to a recent article on Realty Times, listed below are the five keys to a successful negotiation in a real estate transaction.
1. Understand the financing. If you’re a buyer, get pre-qualified before you start house-hunting. This saves you a lot of time once you’ve found your dream home.
2. Know the motivation. What is the motivation of the buyer/seller? Does the seller have to relocate due to a job or career move? Is the buyer’s lease expiring soon? Drill down on areas of importance.
3. Examine market trends. Is this a buyer or seller’s market?
4. Know the details. What is interesting about this transaction?
5. Experience is power. It is absolutely critical that your Realtor has a lot of experience in successful contract negotiations. Make sure this is one of the first questions you ask when hiring a real estate specialist to represent you.
